5-15 cm long, 1-4 wide; evergreen; lanceolate or narrowly oblong; apex acute, base rounded; margin entire, slightly wavy (only very yound leaves with some teeth); light green, hairless above; paler beneath with entangled trichomes and glandular hairs densely along veins; 15-30 vein pairs; petiole 0.5 cm long;
Fruits
acorn 1.2-2 cm long, ovoid, with rounded base; plate-shaped cup, not rolled at rim, enclosing 1/4 to 1/3 of the nut, with appressed, slightly tuberculate scales; maturing in 1 year;
