April to May; female inflorescences axillary, singly, densely tomentose, 4 cm long, with 2-3 fruits; styles connate only at their base;

acorn globose to ovoid, 1.4 cm in diameter; pointed; glabrescent; enclosed 1/2 by cup; cup rather thin, 1.6 cm in diameter, scales in 6-7 concentric rings with margin denticulate; maturing in 2 years;
