reaches 15 m tall;

4-7 x 1.5-3 cm; ovate-elliptic to elliptic; glabrous, whitish below, dark green above; base cuneate, apex acute shortly acuminate, margin entire or remotely denticulate near apex; 7-9 vein pairs inconspicuous above and slightly raised beneath; petiole 5-8 mm, glabrous;

in March-April, on 1 cm female inflorescences with greyish-white or brown pubescence, bearing 3-5 fruits;

acorn oblong 2 cm long, 1.3 cm wide; glabrous; enclosed 1/3 by cup; cup hemispherical velutinous outside, scales in 5-6 concentric rings with margins apical ones denticulate, others entire; scar 3-5 mm, flat; stylopodium persistent; matures first year;

mixed forests in mountain;
